Happy New Year and Farrow and Ball Paint!

Editor's Note: Today I am wearing a Doncaster lace blouse, Ann Taylor
velvet jeans and Miu Miu velvet shoes.

New years are about new beginnings. This can mean all sorts of things in your life, but as far as interior design goes, a great way to give your home a fresh outlook is to repaint a room or even the whole house.

Paint is a (fairly) inexpensive way to breath new life into an interior that feels tired or stale.

Even after 25 years as a designer, paint is still one of the hardest things. It tends to change from the wall to the sample, especially depending on the light cast into the room. Some colors, like gray for instance, can change into color after color, and look like everything and anything except, well, gray.

Farrow & Ball is one of my favorite paint vendors on the market. They have a wonderfully curated list of colors and it is very hard to go wrong with something in their line.

Their paint takes on a new life in each light and can change personalities even depending on the time of day. Farrow & Ball is an English brand and it is of the utmost quality.

While it is a bit more expensive than say, Benjamin Moore, I love that their selection of colors is not overpowering. Their colors are also heavily saturated, which requires less coats and therefore less paint.

Here are two rooms with Farrow & Ball paint. I love the way they look with natural light cast upon the walls.

Try a Farrow & Ball paint in one your rooms this New Year and watch as it transforms it and makes you look at your furnishings in a completely fresh way.

Last night we had my cousin Shelley and her family over for a New Year's Eve Dinner Party!
Dinner was served family style on china and silver that we passed.
We used Lenox Golden Gate china, sterling from my step grandmother in the Quadroon pattern, and Herend place card holders. We served grilled beef tenderloin, cheese grits, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes , and salad along with red wine and champagne.

I adore Colbie Caillat and Love this song from her album, Gypsy Heart.

Happy New Year to all of my Readers! I hope you will
continue to follow along with us as we move into 2016!
